Stover Given Two Awards At Graduation
At the graduation ceremony on May 17, 2008, elementary and special education major Anna Stover was presented with two very distinguished awards, the Catherine McAuley Award and the President’s Scholar Award.
The Catherine McAuley Award is given to the student who best exhibits the mission and values of the College, and Stover was a clear choice. In her time at Gwynedd-Mercy College, she was an active member of Campus Ministry and the Student Government Association, and served as a Resident Assistant and Community Education Supervisor for the First Year Experience Residential Program. In her spare time, Stover volunteered at a retirement home for St. Francis of Assisi nuns.
As if she were not busy enough, Stover was also able to maintain a 4.0 grade point average for four consecutive years. This, combined with her dedication to service, is what prompted Dr. Kathleen Owens to honor Stover with the President’s Scholar Award. Congratulations, Anna, on winning these prestigious awards!
